Solana’s founder, Anatoly Yakovenko, has stirred curiosity in the crypto community with an unexpected tweet related to Satoshi. This tweet from Yakovenko follows the publication of 120 pages of email exchanges between Satoshi Nakamoto and Martti Malmi, a pioneer Bitcoin developer, on February 23. The released emails provided valuable insights into the early stages of Bitcoin development, its vision, and included personal information and opinions of Satoshi.
Mert, the CEO of Helius Labs, emphasizes Satoshi’s perspective in an email exchange: “Bandwidth speeds, prices, disk space, and computing power will be much greater by the time it’s needed.”
This statement, which underscores Solana’s principles, caught the attention of Yakovenko, prompting his comment: “Satoshi also invented Solana. She just did a much better job covering up her tracks this time. The truth is out there.”
Considering Anatoly Yakovenko’s role as the creator of Solana, his comment may carry a hint of humor, as various projects have playfully drawn parallels between Satoshi’s legacy and their own innovations.
Solana (SOL) was established in 2017 to enhance censorship resistance and facilitate a significant increase in transaction throughput at a notably lower cost compared to other blockchains like Bitcoin or Ethereum. This development occurred about six years after the pseudonymous Bitcoin creator, Satoshi Nakamoto, disappeared from the internet in 2011.
Solana employs a unique proof-of-history (PoH) timing mechanism to support its proof-of-stake (PoS) protocol structure. The outcome is an exceptionally fast blockchain capable of scaling as the protocol’s usage expands, without relying on Layer-2 infrastructure or sharding.
